The non-recess frame is suitable for fitting DIY shutters onto the architrave or the walls surrounding the window opening. This is the recommended option for most sash and inward opening windows. The frame screws are concealed behind the front cover strip.
When selecting the non-recess frame, it's important to check your slat clearance as you may need to upgrade to the 'large' frame. We'll explain this below.
For further information on the configuration of specific shutter ranges, please make sure you read the "Product Spec" on the product pages.

Measure the width in three places to find the smallest dimension. Your measurement needs to include 45mm on each side to accommodate the back of the shutter frame.
If the shutter frame will be mounted onto an architrave, it's a good idea to keep inside of any raised decorative detailing to ensure the shutter frame will back onto a flat surface.
Measure the height in three places to find the smallest dimension. Your measurement needs to include 45mm on each side to accommodate the back of the shutter frame.
Again, if the shutter frame will be mounted onto an architrave, try to keep inside any raised decorative detailing.
If measuring for café style shutters, measure up from the lowest point to where you'd like the shutters to finish.
If you are measuring for side-by-side windows, please make the height provided the same for each. This will ensure a matching number of slats.
Measure the projection of the obstructions, such as window handles. Measure from the surface on which the shutter frame will be mounted (architrave, window frame or wall surrounding the window).
0-9mm obstructions - choose the standard frame with any slat size
10-30mm obstructions - choose the large frame with any slat size
31-40mm obstructions - choose the large frame with the 64mm slat size
40mm+ obstructions - contact us for advice before ordering
If you are ordering a full height shutter over 1500mm in height, you will need to provide a midrail measurement.
A midrail is a fixed horizontal rail that provides structural support to your shutter panels.
Measure up from the sill to where you'd like the midrail to be centered.
If you are ordering a tier on tier shutter, you will need to provide a T-Bar measurement.
A T-Bar is a horizontal frame piece that divides the top and bottom panels of your tier on tier shutter.
Measure up from the sill to where you'd like the t-bar to be centred.
Provide your width and height to get an accurate price.
